週一英語学習会｜直訳の難しいイディオムを含む英会話

開催場所： Sabori CASA代々木（代々木駅徒歩3分）

内容：当会では、下記学習等を行っています。TOEIC対策/瞬間英作文/National Geographic Grammar/金フレ/Duolingo
今回は表のイディオムを使った英会話です。即フレーズが出なければ×。
記事は備忘録です。
ユリ、フリージアのいい香りがします。

■日常にありふれているのに、聞き慣れない英単語

乾燥剤「捨てる　食べるな」	desiccant（ダッシキャント） 捨てる　throw away　食べるな　don’t eat
プチプチ／気泡緩衝材	Bubble wrap（バブゥラップ）
画鋲	Thumbtack / Pushpin（サムタック、プシュピン
ざる／水切りボウル	Colander（カオレ（ン）ダー） ※呼称を呼べずKitchen toolと言ってしまいがち
粘着カーペットクリーナー／コロコロ	Lint roller（リントゥローラー） ※Lint糸くずを取り除くローラーという意味
サランラップ／食品用ラップ	Cling wrap（クリンラッ）
靴べら	Shoehorn（シューホーン） ※昔、動物の角hornで作られていた名残

■休日表現の違い

休み：個人的な仕事の非番日 └明日は私の休みです └明日は休みです。	day off Tomorrow is my day off I have the day off tomorrow.
休み：社会全体が決めた「祝日、祭日」 └ (学校の)休暇中の宿題 └祝祭日らしいよそ行きの晴れ着 └彼は休暇で地中海へ行っている	Holiday Holiday homework holiday clothes He is gone holidaying in the Mediterranean（メデトレニアン） ※holidaying（休暇を過ごす） の現在分詞形 go + 〜ing 〜しに行く が is gone の後ろにくっついた形 ※言い替え）He is on vacation in the Mediterranean.
休み：楽しむための長期休み └休暇はどこに行きますか？ └休暇はどちらで過ごしますか	vacation Where will you go vacationing? Where will you be spending your vacation?

■駅への道案内

3番線から出ます。It leaves from Platform
渋谷駅で乗り換えてください。Transfer at Shibuya Sta.
新宿行きに乗ってください。Take the train bound for Shinjyuku
この電車はその駅に止まりません。This train skips that station.
3駅目で降りてください。You should get off at the third stop.
XX駅で○○線に乗り換えます。Transfer to the Line at XX Station.
XX方面行きの○○線に乗ってください。Take the Line bound for XX.

改札の外に出る必要はありません。You don’t need to go outside the gates.
直通電車なので、乗り換えの必要はありません。It’s a direct train. No transfer needed.

■直訳の難しいフレーズ などなど
